Please take a look at this helpful guide to what you'll need when bringing your kitten home! This guide is tailored specifically to our kittens. It includes a Necessities Checklist, info on Pet Insurance, Food & Supplies and helpful links on caring for your kitten after you bring them home.
Proof of Insurance is required to take a kitten home. I offer a code for TruPanion that covers them from Day 1 or you can search for others, though they may have a waiting period. I suggest coverage for at least 6 months but ultimately it’s up to you, the owner, past the introduction period. Please review your contract. Incidental acute illness or accident is not covered. Kittens can get an Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) or upset tummies during a stressful transition. It's impossible to predict how they will handle it as kittens are individuals. Best to be prepared!
New kittens owners are all tempted to shop for their new furbaby. The following is a brief list of necessities to make sure are in place before bringing your kitten home:
• Food - Kibble, Canned and/or Raw
• Litter box
• Kitty litter
• Food bowl
• Water bowl
A more detailed list of items used in the Cattery is available on Amazon. Many are important to have on hand.
Kittens are first introduced to water bowls, litter box and then to the same raw meat their mothers eat at ~4 weeks. The dinner plate is moved into their area and they gradually share the meal with their Mom at their own pace. NULO Kibble is available 24/7. I will let you know about your kittens specific eating preferences before they go home. It's important to continue the same diet for at least two weeks before making any changes.
