About Us

Our Cattery

TLC Brits Cattery is located just North of Sacramento, CA and our kittens live all over the US! Whether you fly or drive to pick up your new furbaby or we arrange delivery, our goal is to insure a successful transition.

This is our 6th year and we love what we do! This is a no-cage Cattery where kittens and cats live as pets in our home. They are interacting with all ages of kitties and people for optimal socialization.

As a breeder, my commitment doesn't end when a kitten leaves our Cattery. I'm always available for questions and consulting on any challenges from feeding to Vet appointments. My goal is to see our kittens happy, healthy and thriving in your home.

PLEASE NOTE: All photos are of our kittens, Queens and Sires.

Meet Shauna

Meet Shauna, Owner & Breeder

Shauna has been a caretaker of animals since her childhood growing up in Los Gatos ("The Cats"), CA. She was raised with dogs and a big orange tabby cat called "Uffles". She was also the neighborhood sleuth tracking down missing animals or Momma kitties and their hidden litters. She grew up with Siamese cats later on and even when she couldn't have cats of her own, she fostered rescues.

During the Pandemic she and her daughter helped TNR dozens of cats and fostered over 50 kittens for various shelters and rescues. It was during this time she learned the most about disease, vaccinations and tending kittens. It was also then she began admiring British Shorthairs on Instagram. Never having seen one in the flesh she took a leap of faith and purchased a kitten through Nari Cattery in Colorado. It didn't take long to fall in love with this breed and have the urge to breed Violet. Through the trust, guidance and friendship of Valentine Pakhomenkova of La Canela Tierna, Sheldon aka Maksim, helped us officially launch our Cattery and the first Litter was born in July 13, 2021.

Our Vision

Our vision at TLC Brits Cattery is to promote the health and well-being of each cat and kitten through ethical and responsible breeding practices. We believe that every kitty deserves a loving home and socialize them underfoot to prepare them for yours. We are committed to producing healthy and happy kittens that will make great pets for families and individuals alike.

Our Breeding Program

The British Shorthair classic color is the rich grey shade, or Blue, most people associate with this breed. However, British Shorthairs come in nearly every color and pattern. “Toutes les couleurs” (TLC) translates to "all the colors": Cinnamon, Chocolate, Cream, Black and Fawn plus patterns such as Bi-color, Van, Harlequin, Tricolor (Calico) and Tortie. These are the colors we had focused on however Blues have become harder to find in California. As a result we are expanding our breeding to include a Blues Program in 2026. Look out for info on BOHO British Blues More about colors...

Our goal for 2026 is continued development of our British Longhair program including new Lilac, Chocolate and Chocolate Bicolor Queens, We currently have two Longhair Queens Black Golden Shaded Sheba and Cinnamon Miranda May.

TLC Brits Cattery is a TICA & LCWW registered Cattery. All and all breeding cats are TICA registered. Some of our breeding cats are also registered with LCWW, WCF or Fife. Kittens born in the Cattery will be registered with TICA upon request following proof of spay/neuter.

FAQ's

What does Toutes les Couleurs (TLC) mean?

It is French for "All the colors". TLC Brits Cattery specializes in a wide variety of colors because we find beauty in all the shades from Classic to Rare. Brits are known for their rich dark grey shade called "Blue" however they do come all the colors from the cat family.
